County Fair 2011

We got back from South Carolina and then the fun started!  We had decorations to make, barns to organize and decorate, herdsmanship and concession stand sign up charts to fill, and an amazing array of events and competitions to watch.

These are some of the flowers that we enjoyed
on our walks to and from the truck.

A little creek.

Emmaline's game face before a dog competition!
Parent Showmanship Fun on the Last Day.
Bob got the top of the bottom third!
Yee Haw!!  ;)
Market Goats.
These little guys are always so much fun.

When I sat in the "club sitting area", one goatie kept sniffing my ear and trying to cuddle my neck!
Lucky boy!  He didn't make weight
so he gets to go home
The Poultry Barn had lots of baby chicks
and bunnies to ooh and aahh over.  So precious!

4H Awards Ceremony
Listening for his name for Shooting Sports.

We enjoyed huckleberry waffle cones
during the 4H Awards Ceremony.
It's a tradition!

I felt a little bit melancholy
thinking that we only had to buy
4 this year...not 5.....

My kids have worked hard (well, off and on) throughout this past year on their projects.  The awards, trophies, and cash prizes were great rewards for their work. Of course, there were some disappointments and some surprises.  But, their 4H projects are just that:  theirs.  They own them.
The 4H Awards Ceremony always seems to go a wee bit loonngg
As a Christian, I am so glad that God does not expect me to work for my eternal reward.  I would fail miserably!  His gift to me is indeed precious when I think of how He gave His only begotten Son to die on a cross for MY sins.  Now that I have received His FREE gift, I know I will be in heaven when I die.   Someday in heaven, there will be a rewards ceremony and we will see how little or how much we did for God while we were on earth.  There will be disappointments and surprises there as well.  But they will not be the determining factor in my going to heaven.  Praise God!

In John, chapter 3, God declares...
[15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
[16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
[17] For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
[18] He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

As for life after the fair....we just need some sleep, regular meals, and to focus on what's next:  school!
