Favorite Things...A Piano Recital...well done.

We didn't have much time...
but had just enough to hot roll her hair and make it all pretty.
She snuck into her sister's room...
and wore the "Cinderella" gown!
Who could say 'no' to that little wish?
She had hoped to wear some mascara and lip gloss...
but then...we did run out of time.
We threw on our coats and ran to the car.
We did not want to be late to the Christmas recital!
Then...(ahem)...
we waited in the car for several minutes
while my son finished his primping.
Seriously?
Well, he is 16. :)

This little beauty is ready for her piano recital.
She was so excited!

During the recital...
while she waited for her turn,
the excitement was just building and building...

Then it was her turn...
the last student in the recital.
What an honor!
A personal goal of hers reached.

She played:
Presto    (by Paradisi)
What Child is This?    (English)
Turkish March    (by Mozart-aka Curious George's song)

As just an observer, it was so amazing to watch her fingers.
She was making every single note play with beauty and joy, and
obviously enjoying performing the pieces that she knew and loved so well.

What a lovely recital!
Daddy and I are so proud of you sweetie,
you are a diligent and hard worker in practicing...and it shows...
and because you love beautiful music..and it shows...

Here she is with her beloved teacher, Mrs. H., after the recital.

Thank you Mrs. H. for all that you do for Emmaline...
the wonderful guidance,
the challenging pieces,
the extra time you spend with her,
for sharing your love and joy of music...
and for being my friend. :)

Oh! And for that comfy lil' couch you have in your studio...
 so good for nappin' !!
:: giggle ::

PS Thank goodness there were some pretty young ladies there..
because the boy looked great!
