It's the Wild West out here,
or so people say...
BUT
we don't necessarily think so...
B U T...
then again...
I looked at today's local newspaper
and gasped!
The Police Blotter was
L O N G...
Okay, so perhaps there might be a bit o' truth
in that old saying...
Ya know,
our police do get a lot of wild calls
and everyone knows that
those guys don't get paid enough
to be in the line of duty
here.
It's downright dangerous!
Here's a sampling of what these courageous men and woman
(Yes! we just got ourselves a lady cop! woot!)
ahem.
have to deal with:
A driver swerved to avoid hitting a coyote and put his dump truck trailer in a ditch on Thrall Road.
Two children reportedly were chasing deer with shovels. (note: just checked..and those were NOT my children)
A broken water pipe was reported.
Four goats reportedly were found grazing in a field on Creek Road and the reporting party didn't know who owns the goats! (note: NOT my goats...wrong road!)
A trailer was sticking out into the road on University Way.
A woman was sitting in a mud puddle on Canyon Road.
A person was came to a house on Second St and requested a sleeping bag.
A man on his knees in a field appeared to be hitting something.
A man, who possibly was under the influence, reportedly drove his vehicle with a flat tire up on a sidewalk on First St. because he didn't have a jack and wanted to jack it up.
A woman reportedly was knocking on a door on East Way telling the resident to open the door. (I was confused about this crime--but maybe folks in the city know more about it??)
An intoxicated man was looking for an officer to find out if he could get a DUI on a bike.
A driver failed to signal while turning onto Main St. from Fourth Ave.
AND my favorite...'cause I got to see this one going down!! (needed binoculars though):
A woman in the Badger Pocket reportedly was having a civil dispute with a person who would not remove 80 head of cattle from her property. (Civil? Ha! My foot! There were no less than 4 cop cars there and one was twirling it's lights! Super cool.)
Ohhhhh Boy!
Today's Police Blotter just went
on
and
on
and
on!
I'm just shaking my head
because
I certainly don't see how crime could git much worse!
Of course,
I know I feel safe here in my home at night
but that's only because
we have our guard dog:
' Biskit '
here to protect and serve us.
' Biskit '
Our Fearless Guard Dog
Now, be careful when you come to visit!
I mean that...
I.
do.
Them cows and horses tend to leave a lot of pies
just everywhere
and
you might step in one.
So be careful.
Where you step.
Now that you've been properly warned:
I will leave you with
a piece of homegrown truth:
Eat some meat...
the West wasn't won on salad.

Ha, Ha! I saw the aftermath of that trailer that swerved to avoid the coyote. He should have just run over it. Did a ton of damage to the road and ditch...and there's still a coyote loose!
