Recently a concerned citizen wrote a letter to the editor of our local, daily newspaper. He was concerned that real crimes were not being reported. He brought up a recent incident: There was a sock on a bush. His concern was that the police had responded to the report but that it was of little importance. In fact, he declared, if someone were to report a sock in a bush, there ought to be a severed foot in it! I am sure that comment set heads to shaking and tongues to wagging. In fact, I do believe there was a wind storm that evening. But I digress...to the person reporting the crime--there has been a crime committed. In fact, Bruce Barton, an American author and politician once commented:
Sometimes when I consider what tremendous consequences come from little things. I am tempted to think there are no little things.
So with that reassurance in our minds today, let us consider the crimes causing Biskit to hide under the bed and tremble...(ok, she fell asleep--but she was under a great deal of emotional stress).
Toast reportedly was burned in an apartment on Mountain View Avenue and set off a fire alarm.
An elderly man in a Buick reportedly ran a stop sign.
This could have ended up with that man being charged with 'assault with a deadly weapon'--have you seen the size of those Buicks? And like anyone, I hate to see our elderly imprisoned.
A person on West Road reportedly saw a flash.
A flash? Are we talking aliens? Just sayin'....I'm keeping my wits about me.
Dogs reportedly were barking on Wilson Creek Road.
This could have resulted in some real headaches. Who knows? Sometimes people get killer headaches.
A stray cat reportedly was in a business on University Way.
The band, 'The Stray Cats' from the 80's was here in town? Hey, that IS news.
A big horned sheep reportedly was in the road on Thorp Highway and then went into a field and upset some horses.
Now, of course, this could have resulted in a fire. The great Chicago fire started with a lowly cow kicking over a kerosene lamp!

Do not underestimate the financial or emotional damage that could have been caused by this critter from the dark side. Horses are a ginormous (now that's an understatement) business and hobby here.
NO ONE UPSETS THE HORSES.
NO.
ONE.
Don't worry Biskit, I'm sure the aliens won't even think to look under the bed.
