A New Life

Welcome to my new life.....

I've been absent...
I left you hanging...
but
my family has been on the adventure of a
L I F E T I M E.

We moved.

From Ellensburg, Washington (state)

to

drumroll please.....

Greenville, South Carolina.

yep.
We did it.

yep.
We drove across the country.

yep.
It took 10 days.

and...
yep.
our 17 year old son
drove quite a bit of it.

I
got to be in the middle back seat
and
crochet.

The last time we did this...
I
drove most of the way.

So it was a pleasure and a treat
to be driven...
husband and son in front....
two daughters and two dogs in the seat behind me.

Every once in a while...
I got a dog in my lap.

BUT...

leaving Ellensburg was the hardest part.

I have the most amazing friends.
As we had our last minute...
porch swing talks...
barn sale hugs...

moments and words...

I was overcome with their love...

one dear friend invited
my daughter and me over for tea...
with homemade shortcake and fresh raspberries and cream...
and played a beautiful and moving arrangement of
"The Sweet By and By"
she showed up early to our barn sale with
homemade
gluten free goodies and
picked cherries for for my son (his favorite)...
and we cried as we hugged over and over....

another sat
on the porch swing with me
and gifted me with timely, godly, motherly wisdom...

still another sat
with me on the porch swing
as our sons walked around the house, heads together,
handing off her baby to each other
as we talked about God and cried...

still another swung by
and picked up my daughter...spoiled her all day...
then chatted and laughed about good times with me
out by the barn in the summer wind...

another friend came
to the barn in her ginormous truck-
we loaded up some leftover Timothy hay and alfalfa...
and other goat items...
and as I told her I loved her...
she stoically looked ahead as she drove away...
she didn't want to say good bye...
or cry...

another friend had us all howling as she filled me in
on how she was going to mess with someone's head for me...
and told me of her future plans for her place...

another dear friend
TOOK MY PREGNANT BARN CAT HOME WITH HER...
and the cat's remaining son...
she admired my flowers in their pots...
so I loaded them up in her van...

yet another friend...
was a great comfort and prayed with me...
she loves my children...

our sweet neighbor drove over
and helped us clean out our refrigerator and freezer...
dragging big black bags of food back to his car like Santa Claus!

His wife...she works with my husband...
a saint...
took on the responsibility of the observing and signing for our move...
because the movers came almost a week late...
and then they worked until the wee hours of the morning...
She snuck a gift in the moving truck for us to discover...
a card with every one's signature...
and a gorgeous collage of all of their co-workers...
even some from the past...

when it was discovered...
we had been helping unpack the moving van for many hours
in the blazing hot sauna of South Carolina...
Bob and I
simply
put our heads down
and
wept...

two weeks after we left Ellensburg...another dear friend
was packing up to go to her family's farm...
and when I called for a HUGE last minute favor for my son...
a phone interview/recommendation for his school...
she dropped everything...
and did it immediately.
And saved the day for us.

We know we are loved.
We are filled with Eburg love.

We told them all to keep the home fires a burnin'...
cause we plan on coming back for a visit...
probably in the summer.
because
we did not sell our home...
it is rented out.

As usual...our Ellensburg friends did as we asked...
but they are
so
out
of
control!!!

For realsies guys ??

Well...for real...
we wish we could open up our home to our homeless friends...
provide our timothy hay pasture, well water and barn for their homeless livestock...

my husband is there...
he's volunteering with the donations...
(I understand he's been good for a few goof-ups!  All for a laugh!?)

but
I want to be there with you...
supporting you.

I am praying.

* * * * *
Just a few words to a few people...
not everybody...
I AIN'T GOT ALL DAY!!

T.H.: Thank you for calling...I am so glad you are safe...
it was good to hear your sweet voice!

J.Z.:  Thanks for the texts...
I am praying that your home, cats and chickens will be untouched...
we were so very sorry to hear about you selling the goats...
so glad you got to keep Milky Way and Ariel.

H.H.:  I am praying for you my friend.
Fire may be good for your fields...but I pray it hasn't touched your beautiful home...

J.W.:  I imagine your truck no longer is filling in as your tractor? ;)
For real...stay safe...and hope that beautiful, old barn doesn't burn down!

M.B.:  I know you are safe up on the hill...how's that Mama Kitty?
Surely she's had those babies by now...
"Hey now..."
I imagine the renters wouldn't mind you dropping by with a few...tee hee!!

And everyone else...
hang in there!
You are all in our thoughts and prayers....
