As A. A. Milne once said,
“How lucky I am,
to have something
that makes saying goodbye
so
hard.”
But...
it wasn't luck...
we were truly
BLESSED

Recently, my son told me some things
I will always hold dear to my heart:
He is happy.
He is thankful we moved to South Carolina.
He loves going to his new school.
He's made many friends.
He is incredibly happy.
And I see it...
in his face-
his eyes sparkle...
in his voice-
filled with joy...
in his smile-
because it's there
a lot...
in his attitude-
content...

So, my husband is still in Ellensburg for another 3 weeks...
but the rest of us are settling down...
we are
establishing our new routines...
finding our way around the grocery store..
laughing and texting with new friends...
learning how to drive in bumper to bumper traffic...
finding the unexpected treasure in a moving box...
delighting in the luscious greenery and flowers...
and listening to the crackle and pulse of the tree insects...
much like the
last
few
snow flakes
that drift
down,
down,
down
in a snow globe...
life's pieces are settling into place.
It's bittersweet.
