This morning, I was
a l m o s t
home to the apartment.
* A L M O S T *
ding!
"Check your tire pressure"
blipped onto my message screen in my car.
WHAT?
HUH?
finally...
okay...what kinda joke is this???
I pushed the buttons and saw this:
Left front tire: 40
good!
then...
Right front tire: 40
okies!
then...
Left Rear tire: 14
eh?
then...
Right Rear tire: 40
wonderful!
Wait a minute.
I parked near my apartment and got out.
Sure enough,
Left Rear tire: psssssshhhhhhhhhh!
oh boy.
It's a good thing we have AAA.
Uh.
It's starting to rain.
In the heat.
Uh.
So I did what any normal person would do.
I went inside and went
straight.
to.
bed.
{Well, I didn't get IN bed...
it was so nicely made.
I just laid down on top....}
the dogs curled around me...
and we slept.
Because the tire suddenly seemed like too much.
When I woke up a bit later,
I summoned the courage and called AAA.
We went in a few circles....
have Washington state card.
am located in South Carolina.
It took a few minutes...but then it was ALL GOOD.
The guy was to get there within an hour.
He was there in 30 minutes.
Now it is POURING rain.
I won't go into details....
but I was pretty durn happy that guy was there changing my tire
and not me.
After I brought the dogs out to watch
and he laughed at Biskit's dress...
he commented that I was
"pretty chummpie today"
wha?
Happy I guess.
Yeah, buddy,
I'm not the one in shorts
kneeling
in the red mud
in the small river that has formed under my car
changing a tire
in the torrential rain.
Yeah.
I'm chummpie.
woot!
I just don't understand how it can be
SO HOT
and still be cloudy and rainy?
Don't ask the AAA guy...
he LIKES it.
He's chummpie.
Meanwhile, in Bob's raincoat....
I AM SOAKED THROUGH.
Hey, Bob,
your raincoat doesn't work.
I'll bet you are wondering what I did with two wet dogs
in a tiny apartment.
I laid out a thick comforter with their toys.
I hung Biskit's dress to dry.
And Bob's dumb raincoat.
Then, upon the AAA guy's recommendation,
I went to the Goodyear store.
Sounded GOOD.
I sat there
forever.
MY VIEW.
FOR.
HOURS.
After all was done, the tire guy said that the tire
(brand new by the way)
just had a large puncture hole in it.
I was hoping for a souvenir.
After that bit o' fun...
I had just enough time to do something nice...
I went to
HOBBY LOBBY !
looky here y'all...
a harvest-tree
These Southern Ladies sure know how to party!
Bob, in case you are wondering,
nope.
didn't purchase a thing.
Just enjoyed it for my viewing pleasure.
:: SIGH ::
I luv Hobby Lobby.
Well, from there...it's boring...
BUT...
guess who I got to see tonight at church?
My VERY OWN
MISS ROSIE!
who's the beautiful baby girl?
I got to hug her multiple times,
but then she told me it was time to go...
sad face.
I went into the sanctuary
and the Associate Pastor
(the son of our Pastor in Georgia when my husband was stationed at RAFB
AND we went to Bob Jones U. together...
huh...how about that? small world...?
anyways....)
brought over and introduced two ladies to me.
SOOOOOOOO
I made two, yes, TWO more friends!
At church!
Rachel and Debbie are now my BFF's!!
I hope to tell them the next time I see them!!
That is...if I recognize them
or they don't run and hide when they see me!!
{And I thought the AAA guy was the only person I would talk to today!!!!! }
{ besides the children, of course }
Monday night was the Opening Exercises for the University
and the Academy students were required to go....
here they are...
all dressed up for the service...
so excited!
Their coloring is a bit odd-but I took the picture with my phone.
Yes, mai boy is wearing his very first suit.
Even Biskit was excited!
And, yes, Biskit would like to say something...
but that's for another time.
So my day went from a tire saying "Pssshhhhhhhh"
to
happiness! making new friends.
God loves me.
I am His.
Thanks for taking the time to read this here blog thang.
